Innovative Technology Focused on Conversations

Unitron is a Canadian hearing solutions manufacturer who are owned by the Sonova Group which also owns Phonak. Unitron delivers hearing aids that focus on conversations in different sound environments. They are an innovative company that has introduced unique technology like the FlexTrial concept and Log It All. Their focus is on allowing the user to achieve the best experience possible.

Unitron Discover Hearing Aids

The Discover is Unitron's answer to, or version of, the Phonak Marvel. Unitron and Phonak, their sister company both share hardware. Unitron tends to use the hardware in a very different way, offering different features.

Blending Seven Situation Seamlessly
To Deliver Better Hearing

The core of Unitron's focus on speech is SoundNav 3.0 which manages the core features of their hearing aids. It uses an infinite mix of seven sound situations, which allows the Discover to deliver what you need to hear better no matter the situation. Whether sharing, laughing, debating, commiserating, or simply being a great listener, their intelligent SoundCore technology makes conversations more enjoyable.

The features work together seamlessly to understand your listening environment, making the instant, fluid adjustments that you need to actively participate in every conversation, no matter the situation. So you can simply get on with enjoying the conversation without worrying about anything else.

Unitron Discover

Four Hearing Aids

There are four hearing aids currently available on the Discover range, three Reciever in Canal hearing aids and a Behind The Ear model.

Made For Any Phone

We do know that the devices will be Made For Any Phone hearing aids which will mean a seamless stereo connection to any Bluetooth enabled cell phone or sound source. I would assume you will be able to take calls just by pressing a button on the hearing aid.

Hands-Free Calls

The new devices also provide hands-free phone calls, that means that you can chat away with your caller without picking up your phone. Better than that, you can actually answer a call simply by pushing the button on your hearing aid. You don't even need to pick up your phone to take a call. All without the need for a streamer hanging around your neck. It works directly.

Technology Levels

Unitron hearing aids are normally split into five levels of technology, however, they have split the new Discover into four, the Discover 9, 7, 5 and 3. There are certain features that are available in all levels of technology, but the higher the number, the better the features and ability to handle complex sound situations. Let's take a closer look at the hearing aids.

The Moxi Fit

The Moxi Fit is powered by a size 312 zinc-air battery and it offers a multi-functional push-button for volume and programme changes among other things. The pushbuttons can also be used to answer or end a phone call. The Moxi Fit can use four power levels of receiver, so that means it will cover hearing losses from mild, to severe to profound. The device does not have a telecoil, unfortunately.

The Moxi Jump R

The Moxi Jump R  is powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery and it offers a multi-functional push-button for volume and programme changes among other things. As with the Fit, the pushbuttons can also be used to answer or end a phone call. The Moxi Jump R can use four power levels of receiver, so that means it will cover hearing losses from mild, to severe to profound. There is no telecoil on the Jump R either. The device should deliver a full day of use with one three hour charge even with up to eight hours of streaming.

Stride P R

The Stride P R is a lithium-ion rechargeable BTE (behind-the-ear). Unitron says that the devices will offer a full-day hearing (including streaming), a convenient recharging power pack, and quick charging. The Stride PR will also offer that hands-free phone experience and video calls, phone and stereo media audio streamed to both ears (made for all phones). I expect it to cover losses down to severe in nature.

Moxi Jump R with telecoil

The Jump R with Telecoil is basically the lithium-ion powered Jump with a telecoil added. So you are looking at all the benefits of Moxi Jump R, plus access to hearing loop systems. I know many loop advocates in the US will be very happy with that.

Unitron Tempus Hearing Aids

Conversations Drive The World and Tempus Drives Conversations

The Tempus range is an older range of hearing aids from Unitron. However, they are still valid because the new range does not offer a full range of BTE or ITE hearing aids. Here is what you need to know.

Insera Tempus Hearing Aids

The Insera range is the in the ear hearing aid range on their Tempus Chipset. Like their sister company Phonak, the Insera hearing aids will use Biometric Calibration, which take your individual ear anatomy and hearing needs into account.

Insera range

They say that they will identify over 1600 biometric data points in and on your ear, and the unique calibration settings are calculated for each Insera hearing aid. In this way, the hearing aids are able to more reliably sense where sound is coming from, thereby giving you access to better hearing performance.

They say that the new process will deliver a 2dB signal to noise ratio improvement. Basically means it will make the signal (what you want to listen to) 2dB higher than the noise. While 2dB doesn't sound like much, but combined with all the other strategies that Unitron use it should deliver some real improvement. The Insera will be available in six models to match your hearing needs and in all of their usual levels of technolgy.

Stride Tempus BTE Hearing Aids
